Facebook’s Smartwatch will be introduced next year

The world’s most popular social media network has decided to introduce a smartwatch with two cameras for photos and videos, The Verge reports, citing two people familiar with the project.
In addition, health-related features such as heart rate monitoring will be part of the device. The first version of this smartwatch is expected to be released in the summer of 2022. The price may be close to $400, but it may be lower.
This smartwatch is also likely to have LTE connectivity support.
Facebook declined to comment on the report but noted the tweets of Andrew Bosworth, vice president of the company’s AR and VR division.

“We’ve been saying we want AR glasses that will be very useful, but we’re also investing in other technologies that will be more natural and diversified,” he said in a tweet.
He said that this includes research on EMG, heptax, adaptive interface which will be combined into a wrist-based element.
He added that research does not always lead to the development of a product, but the company will definitely share information with the public on the progress.
Earlier, in February 2021, a report also mentioned the development of the Facebook Smart Watch.
A report by The Information quoted sources as saying that the company is working on a smartwatch that will have a built-in cellular connection.

According to the report, the initial version of this smartwatch can be introduced in 2022 which will have the open-source Android operating system. Similarly, in 2023, the platform will be expanded and efforts will be made to bring this device to compete with smartphones.
Facebook’s smartwatch will focus more on fitness and health. According to the report, Facebook is also working on developing its own operating system for hardware devices and in the future, it will be used instead of wearable devices Android. It will also provide smartwatch messaging.
