Iran to Buy SU35 & S400 from Russia Iran Russia Deal 2022

Iran to Buy SU35 & S400 from Russia? | Iran Russia Deal 2022

Some international defense analysts say that Russia and Iran will soon sign a 10 billion dollar security cooperation agreement. We will discuss in detail what is in this agreement and what is the benefit to Iran if it happens, and also what will be the benefit to the United States and China.

When is the contract expected?

Some international experts claim that Russia and Iran are going to reach a 20-year security and defence agreement in mid-January next year, under which Iran will buy 10 billion dollars worth of weapons and other equipment from Russia. Talks on weapons and their implementation in Iran and Russia were also heard in October 2020, but no progress has been made since then.

What will Iran achieve?

Aviation Online quoted a defence analyst in its article as claiming that Iran would buy S400 surface-to-air missiles and Su-35 aircraft as well as military satellites from Russia under the security agreement. Russia will supply these 10 billion worth of weapons and satellites to Iran in exchange for crude oil, even though Russia is self-sufficient in energy and exports oil and gas to many countries, including Europe.

Details of weapons
The report claims that Russia will supply Iran with two S400 batteries and 24 Su-35 aircraft, as well as a military satellite. The SU-35 is said to be the aircraft that were originally made for Egypt. Egypt actually agreed with Russia to acquire 24 to 26 SU-35 in 2018, valued at 3 billion. However, fearing US sanctions, Egypt has refused to receive about 16 ready-made SU-35s. Because if the United States imposes sanctions on Egypt, it will face global outrage, including problems with keeping more than 200 Egyptian F-16s, two dozen Apache helicopters and hundreds of Abrams tanks in service. That is why Egypt has not yet been able to get the planes, despite Russia’s payment.

Offer to Indonesia
Russia recently offered 11 of the Su-35 aircraft to Indonesia, which were built for Egypt. Indonesia had shown interest in the aircraft a long time ago and had finalized the purchase. But as usual, the bell rang in front of American pressure, and just a few days ago, the Indonesian Air Force dropped the SU-35 from the acquisition list, while the Rafale and F15EX were shortlisted.
Therefore, Russia is now ready to export these planes to Iran and get crude oil in return. Egypt has given permission to Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation to resell the planes.

Current Situation of the Iranian Air Force
Given the current state of the Iranian Air Force, it currently has the F-14 Tom Cat and the MiG-29 and F-4. Iran has already selected 30 pilots for the aircraft, who will be sent to Russia for training, and will operate the SU-35 upon completion of the training. If the agreement is reached in January, the training of these pilots can be started immediately. Deliveries of 24 aircraft could be completed by mid-2022. The possible deal would include life extensions and upgrades for the 23 MiG-29 and 25 SU-24MK aircraft used by Iran, as well as the overhaul. Work on these upgrades is expected to be carried out in Iran with Russian assistance.

S400 batteries
According to an aviation online article, Russia will also supply Iran with two S400 batteries, which Iran will use for the protection of its key strategic facilities, such as the nuclear program facilities. Because Israel has repeatedly stated that it will destroy these facilities.
As far as the military satellite is concerned, its type is not specified whether it will be a satellite intelligence and observation or a communication satellite. If the deal goes through, it will be the first formal attempt to modernize Iran’s own air force.

How will China benefit?
The prospects for Iran’s expected deal with Russia are bright, given the prospect of a bigger or similar deal between China and Iran. Because China is a major oil exporter and the sale of weapons in exchange for oil with Iran, such as the J10C and HQ-9 air defence systems, could be beneficial to both countries.

How will the USA benefit from this?
The United States and Israel are already successfully selling off Iran’s nuclear program and military power throughout the Middle East. Given the so-called threat from Iran, where other countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, are buying arms from the United States and Europe, it will now use this kind of deal with Iran from China or Russia for two purposes. By signing an agreement with China, the United States will send a message to the big fish in the Middle East that Russia and China are standing by your enemy, so limit your contacts and economic relations with them. By providing Iran with advanced aircraft and air defence systems, the United States will be able to continue to sell more weapons to its armed forces. The United States has already postponed the F35 deal, setting off an outcry from its ally France over the Australian submarine deal, but could now offer a modified version of the F35 to the UAE. This will be a win-win situation for both of them. France has also benefited and so will the United States, whether it is the F15EX or the F35.
Well, that was my personal opinion, what do you think about it, please express it in the comment box.

Iran and Muslim countries
In a sense, Iran is using its proxies in various countries, especially in the Middle East, to the benefit of the West. While basically, this Shia-Sunni animosity has only harmed the Muslim Ummah. Therefore, if both sides, Saudi Arabia and Iran, back away from their traditional stubbornness on this issue, the flames of the growing fire in the entire region can be extinguished.
The war in Yemen, for example, is actually a war between Iran and Saudi Arabia, and its direct and indirect benefits are being taken by the Western powers. And they want that spark to burn. Because if these people did not want that, then when would these powers have invaded Iran. But these people are benefiting the most from the war between Iran and other Arab countries, so they want to continue fighting with each other.
If these two countries, Iran and Saudi Arabia, continue to fight each other in the same way, then neither has achieved anything before and will achieve something in the future. Settle on the table and move on.
