Military training of Ukrainian citizens

Western media say that due to growing tensions with Russia, Ukrainian citizens have begun to receive military training on a voluntary basis. So far, 50 Ukrainian citizens have been confirmed to have received military training. Dozens of civilians have also been claimed to have joined Ukraine’s reserve force. Ukraine’s military, with a total of 215,000 troops, has been fighting a Russian-backed uprising in Ukraine since 2014, and hundreds have been killed so far.

Although Russia has denied plotting the attack, Russian President Vladimir Putin has hinted that a military response could emerge if the US-led NATO alliance tries to annex Ukraine.
