New Aircraft for Pakistan Air Force

Pakistan’s Ministry of Defense Production is reported to have issued a tender in September 2021. Under the tender, proposals have been invited for Bombardier’s Global 6000 VIP transport aircraft.

The tender states that the aircraft should not be produced before 2017 and its flight hours should not exceed 1200 hours. While this aircraft is used for VIP transportation, it is also used as an airborne early warning and control aircraft and as electronic warfare and jamming aircraft.

The Pakistan Air Force already has a significant fleet for VIP transportation, notably the Gulf Stream and Embraer Jets of this class. Presumably, these aircraft are being acquired for conversion into a dedicated electronic warfare aircraft in the future, before the Pakistan Air Force is using French-made Falcon D-20 aircraft in this role. Which played a key role in Operation Swift Retort.

It is quite possible that Pakistan will use these aircraft similar to the Turkish-style stand of jammers. However, if this is the case then I think that this aircraft and possible EW conversion will not be a replacement of Falcon D-20 but will be inducted as an addition.
