South Korea to Upgrade F15K Fighter Aircraft
South Korea to Upgrade F15K Fighter Aircraft, as the South Korean Defense Acquisition Program Agency (DAPA), Approved a $2.73 Billion Upgrade Program, for the F-15K of the Republic of Korean Air Force (RoKAF).
The project, which will run from 2024 to 2034 and aims to strengthen the mission capabilities and survivability of the F-15K aircraft with a variety of enhancements, including:
Upgraded Radar:
The ROKAF has been upgrading its F-15K radar systems with the latest Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars. These radars provide improved range, resolution, and situational awareness, and are more resistant to jamming and other forms of electronic warfare.
Improved Avionics:
The ROKAF has been upgrading the avionics systems on its F-15K aircraft to improve its situational awareness, navigation, and communication capabilities. These upgrades include the addition of digital displays, improved mission computers, and enhanced data links.
Enhanced weapons capabilities:
The ROKAF has also been upgrading the weapons systems on its F-15K aircraft to improve its capabilities in a variety of scenarios. These upgrades include the integration of new weapons, such as the AIM-9X Sidewinder short-range air-to-air missile, and the integration of advanced targeting and guidance systems.
Structural upgrades:
The ROKAF has also been implementing structural upgrades to its F-15K aircraft to improve their reliability and maintainability. These upgrades include the replacement of certain structural components and the incorporation of new materials and technologies to improve the aircraft’s durability and performance.
As per Korean media sources, South Korea is to Upgrade the F15K Fighter Aircraft and buy Aerial Refueler Tanker for the Republic of Korean Air Force (ROKF)
Overall, these upgrades are aimed at improving the capabilities of the ROKAF’s F-15K fleet and ensuring that it remains a formidable force in the region.

The F-15K is a variant of the F-15E Strike Eagle fighter aircraft that was developed for the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF). After the F15K Upgrade Program the Korean F15s will be at par with the latest generation of F15K.
