Spain orders 20 new Eurofighter Typhoon Jets

Spain has decided to acquire 20 more Eurofighter Typhoons for its air force. Sixteen of these Eurofighter Typhoons are single-seat and four are dual-seat variants. These 20 aircraft will replace the F-18s used by the Spanish Air Force. After the Eurofighter acquisition, the Spanish Air Force will have 90 aircraft.

The first of these 20 aircraft is scheduled for 2026. The acquisition is valued at 2.2 billion euros. Its initial approval was given on December 14, 2021.

It should be noted that at this time Turkey is also seriously considering this jet. However, no official information has been released so far.
