Turkey has not expelled Russian S-400 trainers
Russian officials have denied reports circulating in the media that Turkey has expelled Russian trainers for training the Turkish officials on the S400 air defense system to appease the United States. According to Russian authorities, the return of Russian experts will be according to the schedule already agreed in the agreement. However, according to the Russian presidential spokesman, some experts have returned to Russia after doing their part and they have instructed Turkish officials to train on S400. Russia’s presidential spokesman added that all our experts are returning as scheduled and giving the impression that they have been expelled is incorrect. Meanwhile, the Turkish Foreign Minister said during his visit to Greece that the S400 is thoroughly controlled by Turkey and Russian military experts will not stay permanently in Turkey.
He also denied that the United States wanted Turkey to deactivate the system. “It is not possible for us to accept that a country tells us not to use this system,” he said. It is to be noted that these remarks were heard shortly before the scheduled meeting between the Turkish President and the US President in mid-June.
