Turkey’s Strategic Win In Syria: Breaking The Invincibility Myth
Turkey’s strategic successes in Syria have not only astonished global powers but also left them deeply unsettled. U.S. Congressman John Kennedy openly threatened Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, warning of severe repercussions if harm came to the Kurds. At the same time, he sought to exaggerate Israel’s role in the region.
“They’ve wanted it for thousands of years …nobody knows what the final outcome is going to be in the region you know nobody knows who really the final I believe it’s Turkey and I think turkey is uh very smart he’s a very smart guy and he’s very tough but Turkey did an unfriendly takeover without a lot of lives being lost”.
Meanwhile, U.S. President elect, Donald Trump acknowledged Turkey’s achievements in Syria, stating:
According to Trump, Turkey carried out an “unfriendly takeover” in Syria, but with such skill that there was minimal bloodshed. The reality is that Turkey’s strategic maneuvers in Syria were as calculated as the moves of a chess grandmaster. Partnering with Russia, Turkey enhanced its regional influence and fortified its military and defensive capabilities to such an extent that even American and Israeli strategists were forced to acknowledge its impact.
In this new situation, American proxies and allies are now in a weakened position. In Syria, the U.S. and Israel had two key allies: the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), an offshoot of the PKK terrorist organization that openly supports Israel, and Bashar al-Assad’s regime, which appeared to be allied with Russia but secretly exchanged interests with the U.S. and Israel. As long as Assad was in power, Israel faced no significant threat from Syria’s military assets. However, with the possibility of Assad’s removal, Israel could not allow these assets to fall into the hands of the opposition, leading it to launch over 500 attacks on Syrian military installations in two weeks.
When Turkey, in cooperation with Russia, established a safe zone in Idlib and solidified its position in the region, Assad and the Kurdish SDF, under US direction, quickly aligned to counter Turkey’s advances. This marked a dual defeat for the U.S. in Syria. Assad’s regime fell further under Russian influence, while the Kurdish SDF, facing Turkish military pressure, was pushed to the brink of collapse.
Trump’s words, “Turkey orchestrated an unfriendly takeover without bloodshed,” reflect the effectiveness of Turkey’s strategy, which has left global powers both surprised and powerless.
Meanwhile, some of our analysts and ideological factions continue to resist acknowledging Turkey and the Syrian people’s successes, preferring instead to dwell in the shadow of conspiracy theories. They refuse to accept the fact that a new and positive chapter is unfolding in Syria.

They persist in perpetuating the belief that America and Israel are “unbeatable powers” and that “everything happens by America’s will.” These narratives, entrenched in both right and left ideological circles, have unfortunately gripped our minds. Under the influence of conspiracy theories and a defeatist mindset, we accept these narratives as truth. Consequently, we unconsciously view America and Israel as invincible forces, assigning them an almost divine authority. This belief is not only dangerous in terms of faith but also a losing proposition in worldly terms.
This is, in fact, the greatest achievement of a cunning and propaganda-savvy enemy. By accepting such narratives, we voluntarily render ourselves weak and consider the enemy undefeatable. As a result, we attribute even our victories to their plans, solidifying our psychological defeat. It is time to recognize our true strength and trust in the supremacy of Allah alone, whose will reigns over everything.
