About Patriot Air Defence Missiles System
The Patriot is a long-range, all-altitude, all-weather air defense system developed by Raytheon. It is designed to defend against a variety of threats, including aircraft, drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. The Patriot system consists of several key components, including radar, missiles, and launchers.
The radar component of the Patriot system is the AN/MPQ-53 or AN/MPQ-65 radar set. These radars are capable of detecting and tracking a wide range of threats, including aircraft, drones, and missiles. They are also equipped with a number of modes to enable them to perform various tasks, such as search, track, and missile guidance.
The Patriot missile is a medium-range, surface-to-air missile designed to intercept and destroy incoming threats. There are several versions of the Patriot missile, including the MIM-104E Standard Missile-2 (SM-2) and the MIM-104F Standard Missile-3 (SM-3). Both of these missiles are equipped with guidance systems that enable them to home in on their targets and intercept them at long range.
