South Korean submarine
South Korea has begun construction of its second submarine, the KSS-3 Batch Two Class.
The 3,600-ton displacement submarine will improve the Korean Navy’s ballistic missile capability. The submarine will be ready in 2026 and will be delivered to the Navy in 2028. The submarine reportedly has about 10 vertical launch tubes that can fire submarine-launched ballistic missiles. Earlier, the 3,000-tonne Batch One submarine could be equipped with six missiles.
